Katie Phillips
Bio
Prior to joining the Griffin Law Firm, Katie Phillips served as an active duty judge advocate for 10 years in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps and U.S. Coast Guard, respectively. She served as both a military prosecutor and military defense counsel. Katie earned her title as a Navy Military Justice Specialist in 2021. Katie still serves as a reservist in the U.S. Navy JAGC.
Prior to her prestigious active duty legal career, Katie earned her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University where she competed on the Varsity Swimming and Diving Tea and proudly represented LSU as its only female swimmer at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100-meter freestyle. Katie earned her juris doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After swearing into the Louisiana bar in 2013, Katie served as a Law Clerk to the late Honorable James R. McClelland, the Chief Judge of the 16 th Judicial District of Louisiana.
On a personal note, Katie is an active member of her church and spends her free time outdoors with her husband and three children.
